This Week's Thoughts Thoughts from Pastor Holloman This Sunday is Pentecost.  Now Pentecost is a word that many people are not sure what to make of.  At the church I served in Wildwood, during a worship service where we had invited all the high school football players and their families to come and worship with us so that we could pray for protection from injury for all the young men, one of the parents had noticed on the bulletin that we had said that it was the 15th Sunday after Pentecost.  The parent, who was an active member at another church, asked me, “What is Pentecost.”  Both parents had never heard of it. Click here to read more Children's Ministries SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS -The new curriculum starts June 2nd and we still need teachers for Daniel's Den, 3rd through 5th, and the 11:00 a.m. service.   Everything is ready for you to teach when you enter the classroom.   Can you spare an hour every other week to bring Celebration's children the word of God? VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL - Sign up your child now!  Space is limited to 30 children and it is open to CUMC before we open registration up to the public.  We have a greater number of volunteers during the evening hours so we will host VBS June 26th, 27th and 28th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  If by chance, we are blessed with extra hands, we may extend the three evenings to five.  The curriculum is "Cabin Fever" and we will need five people willing to volunteer each evening to teach one topic.  We also plan to have an overnight camp out Friday night (if enough parents volunteer to sleep out) for those with perfect attendance.  We need you to make this a great activity for Celebration UMC's children!  Please volunteer. FUN FUN FUN! This Sunday at Noon - The Magic Man & Pizza!  We will have pizza and the Magic Man will be making balloon creatures for all to enjoy - even the parents!!!!  Bring a friend and join us for a great afternoon of fun! Missions HABITAT FOR HUMANITY – Celebration will need to have 10 workers lined up and 5 from another congregation will be part of our team each day we work.  We will need everyone to complete all volunteer forms and ready to work on these dates. May 11 (8:00 till around 12:30, then clean up and lunch).  Celebration UMC will be responsible for providing lunch for 30 on this day. June 8  (8:00 till around 12:30, then clean up and lunch).  Lunch being provided by others. June 22 (8:00 till around 12:30, then clean up and lunch).  Lunch being provided by others. FOOD 4 KIDS BACKPACKS Archer Elementary -  We have less than one month left of the school year and would like to have volunteers sign a calendar in the designated area indicating when they wish to fill the backpacks.  It takes a minimum of two people to complete this task.  We have some wonderful new volunteers and want to make sure everyone is able to serve in this extremely rewarding program before the school year ends. If you would like to contribute to a specific mission projects, donations can be made through the offering.  Just remember to earmark the donation to the project of your choice. Hope Lodge Dinner; The sign-up sheet is in the designated area for preparing food items for the Hope Lodge dinner next Thursday, May 23rd.  The residents and caregivers always love our dinners and truly enjoy the fellowship we share with them.  Volunteers are always invited to serve at Hope Lodge.  Thank you!
